The practice entails putting fresh peeled ginger root into the anal canal. First used on horses to provide an artificial sprite step during show or sale day, the practice has been used in the bedroom as well.
Although the practice results in burning sensations, the recipient of such a practice walks away unharmed. In other words, one can feel as if one is "on fire," but no burns to the skin result.

Choose ginger tubers that are heavy for their size, firmness, smooth skin and spicy fragrance. Avoid the ones that are light for their size and have wrinkly skin.
Preparation. Use a vegetable peeler to peel the skin. Some people use the back of the spoon. Very important: If inserting into anus, shape your ginger like a butt plug so it's easy to retrieve. (See picture below.)

Any shavings from preparation can be saved and made into a ginger tea or incorporated somehow into gingerbread or other ginger-related pastries, confections, etc.
Wrap fresh, unpeeled tubers in paper towels, place in a plastic bag, and refrigerate for up to three weeks. If you freeze them, they can last for up to two months.
